SummaryPRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

WORKING PROCEDURES:
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for all aspects of financial statement preparation
2. Produce various monthly reports, KPIs and financial forecast
3. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
4. Responsible for inventory management and analysis
5. Manage banking relationships and all other areas of treasury function
6. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
7. Support month-end and year-end close process
8. Benchmark profits and losses against competitors or other departments
9. Direct financial audits and recommend improvements
10. Develop five year and ten year financial business plans


SCOPE, PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:
The scope of the Controller position is much larger in a small business, where the position is also responsible for cash management and risk management.

DIRECTION OF OTHERS: Supervision of entire accounting department

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Equivalent required; Master’s Degree or CPA preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis. Experience in manufacturing industry a plus.
• Accounting/GAAP knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent Communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint
• Previous experience in Due Diligence work
• Previous experience in sale of a business unit or carve out
• Must be US Citizen or lawful permanent resident.
